7th National Meeting of WHOCCs in Iran

The 7th national meeting of WHO Collaborating Centers was held on Wednesday, 18 November 2025 (28 Aban 1404), at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The event brought together representatives of the collaborating centers, the Deputy Ministers for International Affairs, Research and Technology, and Health, as well as representatives of the World Health Organization in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean.

During this specialized meeting, the WHO Collaborating Centers presented reports on their history, achievements, policies, future plans, and strategies aimed at strengthening collaboration and enhancing their impact at both national and regional levels.

Presentation by the Representative of the National Nutrition and Food Technology Research Institute (NNFTRI): From a Distinguished Legacy to Future Horizons

The representative of the NNFTRI addressed the meeting by highlighting six decades of uninterrupted activity in the fields of education, research, and evidence generation for policymaking in food and nutrition. She also emphasized three decades of continuous and fruitful collaboration with the World Health Organization.

She elaborated on the institute’s national and international achievements and described this long-standing partnership as clear evidence of the institute’s firm commitment to consolidating its scientific authority and playing an effective role in advancing regional food and nutrition security through structured international collaborations.

Closing Remarks of the Meeting

At the conclusion of the session, participants underscored the importance of fully harnessing the extensive research and educational capacities of the WHOCCs, strengthening their role in advancing national and regional health objectives and programs, and consolidating and institutionalizing the position of these centers as the scientific body and evidence-making pillar for the development of health programs.
